Most video editors have at least two monitors these days. If you want to see the footage your editing fullscreen on your second monitor while having the timeline and the rest of the panels on the other monitor, here are the steps for doing that (Edit: note that this feature requires the Studio version of Resolve):
- Make sure Workspace->dual screen is set to “off” (I know, sounds a bit counter-intuitive)
- Go to Workspace->video clean feed and select your monitor from there.
I dont have the option “Video clean feed” I have Davinci Resolve 17.4.3.
So has this option been removed or replaced?
Hi!
Just installed 17.4 for to check and I do still have that option.. I do have the Studio version, so I’m not sure if that is required for this option to appear. Edit: after some research it seems like this feature does indeed require the Studio version of DaVinci Resolve. :/
You can set timeline to be full screen on your 1st monitor and on the 2nd one turn on cinematic view (ctrl + f)
y’all, I figured this out. In the Workspace menu, set dual screen to ON. Then, assign the proper secondary monitor within the Secondary Display menu. Then, check the box “Single Viewer Mode”. Make sure you’re in the “Edit” workspace view down along the bottom of your primary monitor. On your secondary monitor, the viewer as well as clips etc. should be visible. Then, select Workspace –> Viewer Mode –> Cinema Viewer (or press Ctrl + F). Because your small viewer window is on your secondary monitor now, when you command it to blow up to full-screen, it happens on the secondary monitor. Quick and dirty workaround for those of us without a Studio license!
